According to our television expert
The LG OLED65A16LA (2021) is a budget-friendly TV from the OLED TV series from LG. The millions of pixels in the environmentally-friendly OLED screen light up or turn off individually, so this television displays a truly deep black. And it's easy on the eyes. The screen can produce 1 billion colors and supports HDR, so you can enjoy subtle differences in color tones. The Dolby Atmos IQ technology lifts this to an even higher level by adjusting the color representation to the surroundings. The light sensors in the TV provide softer colors in a dark room and more brightness in daylight. In the webOS smart menu, you can quickly switch between live television and your downloaded apps. You can watch movies and series via Netflix, Disney+, or Videoland, watch videos on YouTube, or play music via Spotify. In addition, webOS lets you stream from your iPhone to the TV via AirPlay.

We have been able to test this TV for a few weeks and we really liked it. Our first impression was a bit hesitant; what a gigantic TV, will it fit on our TV furniture? Fortunately, it fits, the 2 legs are just on the TV cabinet. More than 1 week later, however, you are already used to the size of this TV. Most likely, the TV will fit better if it hangs against the wall. But those may be concerns for later!
Of course we were very curious about the picture qualities of this TV. To be fair, nothing to complain about. Black is really black and sharp is really sharp. The colors are just true. Really full of color. Of course, in addition to movies and football on TV, I watched 4K YouTube demos. That was a relief for the eyes. It is wise to keep a distance of 3 meters from the TV for optimal viewing pleasure.
I didn't think that voice control is very useful and perhaps more importantly, works well. In any case, it works flawlessly for me and it switches to NPO1 without any problems when I call this. I have to say this clearly and quite loudly. Will I be using it a lot? I don't think so because my roommates think it's better if I just use the remote for this!
The smart functions work great! My NAS with photos was automatically found without any problems and before we knew it we were watching photos on the TV. The home dashboard shows you at a glance what equipment is available. Really handy and it works great; you can easily switch to your Apple TV. It's a bit of a shame that you then have to use the Apple remote control (which makes sense, of course) to select your app in the Apple menu. In this way at least the F1 game can test. Beautiful image, even if it's not a 4k test, and it looks like you're actually on the F1 track. With the LG ThinQ app on your smartphone it is possible to control your TV. Handy but above all fun. More importantly, it also shows the photos from your smartphone on the TV.
With Airplay it is very easy to connect your iPhone and Apple laptop to the TV to show photos and videos on the TV. I have tested all these smart functions several times and not once did I experience a hitch in the connection. In short, it works great!

I was lucky enough to have been able to test this TV for a few weeks, and what a pleasure this test was. What a screen!
What did I like?
The sound is pure and reflects well what is happening on the TV, nothing is hidden. Of course, the bass is not punchy as with a real subwoofer, but if you don't have the budget for a sound system, this is no problem at all, because this TV delivers an excellent sound.
Finally, I would like to mention the image quality, something in which this TV is really convincing. HDR, Dolby Vision. You name it and this TV has it! Watching 4K TV in a way I've never watched TV before (and I gave them a 4K TV but it pales in on the quality of this one). Black was really black! No “bleeding” in the screen. The colors were true. Really full, clear and sharp. Watching TV for longer is absolutely not tiring for the eyes. You don't even realize you've been watching for a long time.

Tested this product for a few weeks. What struck me first was the design. This TV is very thin and therefore more vulnerable. The image quality is sharp and can be admired from all angles. While streaming your favorite movie/series, you'll experience it like never before. You get the idea that you are in the middle of it, the image is so sharp and clear. Thanks to the handy buttons for Disney+, Netflix, Rakuten and prime videos on the remote control, you can easily switch from one streaming service to another streaming service. While gaming I experienced a new dimension of gaming the graphics of the games now really came out well. What less of the TV is the sound quality. The sound is a bit shrill/tinny. This is easily solved by connecting or purchasing a soundbar. Setting up the TV was done in no time and within a few minutes you can start enjoying this TV. It is highly recommended.
