My trusty OnePlus 6t was slowly but surely breaking down, so it was time for an upgrade! I looked at the Google Pixel series 7, Motorola Edge 30Ultra and the Sony Experia. But was still not convinced. Around December, the first specifications of the OnePlus 11 leaked and decided to wait. And am glad I did! I have the green version with 16GB RAM and 265GB storage. The build/design of the phone feels solid. The buttons are in nice places and they don't get in each other's way. Like with the Pixel 7 where the volume buttons and the 'power button' are very close together. The alert slider is a plus for me. This sets the device to 1 of the 3 sound profiles: silent, vibrate or ringtone. This is also easy to do without taking your device out of your pocket. The alert slider won't accidentally change profile in your pocket, it's just 'tough' enough for that. The camera island is not in the way and personally I like the round finish. When the phone is flat on the table, it hardly wobbles when you send / type an app, for example. The green version shows a bit more fingerprints on the back and feels a bit smoother than the black one. The phone doesn't feel too heavy in the hand. However, it is a large device which sometimes makes it difficult to operate with one hand. OnePlus does have software solutions for that: the one-handed mode. This will move the icons to the bottom of the screen. The screen is almost flat with some rounded screen edges. I myself had seen the screen completely flat, but the rounded screen certainly does not disturb and is hardly noticeable. The screen is a feast for the eyes. The colors are good, brightness adjusts automatically and the screen remains clearly visible even outside in the sun. In addition, the screen automatically adjusts the refresh rate, which is more economical for the battery. Speaking of the battery: great! I now have 50% left at the end of the day several times. This is with 'normal' use. Little YouTube, Social Media, taking pictures and surfing the internet. Charging is done within half an hour! Before I go to work I put the device on the 100 watt fast charger and the device is at 100% in no time! The inability to charge wirelessly is therefore also negligible. It is a pity that it is not possible to make the price as cheap as possible. But due to the fast loading, the loss is really not that big. OnePlus has been disappointing in the camera department for years. Especially when compared to the (much more expensive) competitors Samsung, Apple, Google and Sony. The OnePlus 11 holds its own against this competition and will certainly not disappoint you. The photos are of good quality, with the colors being natural and neutral. And therefore not over-filtered with software. Especially the portrait photos come into their own beautifully. It is a pity that the selfie camera cannot make 4k recordings, although I doubt whether this is really a loss. The OnePlus 11 is a powerhouse. You fly through your apps and the menu. You can keep up to 44 apps open in the background and it won't slow down the phone. Apps open smoothly and often where you left off last time. I don't play games on a phone so I can't comment on that. Although I suspect this really shouldn't be a problem. Not even with the bigger/heavier games. OnePlus has also added a new haptic engine. This makes the phone very snappy and responsive. The feedback through vibrations is clear and subtle at the same time. The strongest of these vibrations can of course be adjusted or switched off. OnePlus has indicated that the device will receive major software updates for 4 years and security updates for 5 years. Conclusion: OnePlus is back when it comes to the term Flagship killer! The device is comparable to a €1000,-+ telephone and is certainly not inferior! It even performs better on some fronts, such as the battery and user-friendliness. In addition, you also just get the 100 Watt fast charger with the phone. Something most manufacturers don't do anymore. The OnePlus 11 is a very nice device that lasts a long time and with a good price-quality ratio! I could recommend it to everyone.

With the OnePlus 11, the company returns to the old formula that OnePlus had released in recent years. A flagship-level phone for a few hundred dollars less, with a few minor features omitted and much emphasis placed on the usability of the features that are offered. As a longtime OnePlus user, I feel completely at home, despite the fact that the current OxygenOS looks a bit different than it did a few years ago. Overall, I find this operating system fast and usable. No bloatware is included and most basic apps are Google's. There are many online reviews, which I would like to refer to. However, those are a few months old and since then many of the criticisms about the software and the cameras have been resolved by means of. updates. The cameras excel at photography. So who knows, Hasselblad really had an influence on that. The automatic white balance and exposure are very accurate in all circumstances and the photos look natural without exaggerated colors, especially if you don't save the photos in JPG format but in HEIF format. This applies to all cameras with the exception of the selfie camera. If you want exaggerated colors or colors other than standard, there is a wide choice of filters and settings to achieve that. Videos are of good quality, but no better than competitors in this price range. The selfie camera is also nothing special. Smartphones with slightly better cameras can be found, but they currently cost hundreds of euros more. The battery has a long run time, easily more than a day if I use the phone a lot and two days with average use. Charging is super fast and that makes other charging methods superfluous for me. I find the screen and speakers very good and the haptic feedback (small vibrations when typing, etc.) works excellently. The OnePlus devices that I have bought in the past last a long time. Last year (2022) my old OnePlus 3 from 2016 stopped working, all newer models still work fine and are used daily. The promised long support with updates is therefore very important to me. OnePlus promises 4 years of system updates and 5 years of security updates in a 2-month rhythm for this phone. It's going well so far. My experience with previous OnePlus devices is that as soon as the successor comes on the market, the updates for some older models come less often and later.

The device is really a speed maniac. Despite several spec errors on multiple sites, it's more modern than they make out. Wifi is the latest, the WiFi 7. The RAM memory of 16 GB is expandable via the ROM memory up to 28 GB. The only downside to the green version is the smoothness. It's like it would keep slipping/falling out of your hands. Furthermore, a top device from which Samsung can learn a lot in terms of price/quality. But the speed is more than "OK" and the pictures are really of superior quality.
