Samsung QD OLED 77S95C (2023)

The Samsung QD OLED S95C (2023) combines the deep black levels of an OLED screen with high brightness. As a result, I enjoy rich contrasts and striking colors while watching movies and series. This combination results in a strong contrast. For example, I distinguish clear details in very dark scenes in horror films, for example. From every angle in the room, the quality of the image remains the same thanks to the excellent viewing angle. The contrast and the color tones remain equally visible. Thanks to the anti-reflection layer, I am not bothered by reflections from artificial light and sunlight. This way the image always remains clearly visible in high quality. Striking design and immersive sound The design of the S95C is pleasing to the eye. Due to the Infinity Design, there is almost no border around the side of the image. This makes it seem as if you only see the image. Furthermore, the TV is really wafer-thin and blends seamlessly into your interior. You can connect all your peripherals to the TV via one transparent cable via the included One Connect Box. This prevents a tangle of cables. Thanks to the Object Tracking Sound + technology, the sound moves along with the movements on the screen. This effect is enhanced by the extra speakers on the sides and top of the television. In combination with the Dolby Atmos technology, the sound is also reflected from the ceiling to my sitting position. The design results in a beautiful sight but also in an immersive listening experience. By the High ease of use The S95C has a full-screen smart menu. The menu makes suggestions based on what I like to watch. This makes it easy to find my favorite content between all popular apps such as Netflix and YouTube, without having to open the apps. The included Solar One Remote is a minimalistic designed remote control with few buttons. It therefore looks well-arranged and is pleasant to use. The remote control charges itself with artificial and daylight, making batteries superfluous. Ideal.

Mounting the base to the rear was hell. The TV was a second chance. While assembling I was thinking about returning the television. Ultimately put together with a lot of effort, the image is beautiful. The sound is nice, but I have a home cinema set to compensate for that.

It is always a difficult choice; QLED, Neo QLED, OLED, QD OLED, but what a wonderful TV this 55S95C is! Of course I looked at the burn-in. Now the old screens from the past also had that risk, although I have never had a problem with it myself, so I just Googled how it works. Not a real problem anymore these days. This OLED TV also shifts the image by one pixel every so often. Yes, 55 inches, but we are on top of it (at 2 and a half meters) so bigger is not pleasant (and less sharp if you are so close to it). What a crystal clear screen by the way. In the evening the subtitles are so bright that it hurts your eyes when the brightness is set to max. The viewing angle is virtually unlimited without changing the colors or brightness of the image for the person looking at the TV at an angle. A soundbar is a must if you want to enjoy movies. I have a HW-Q990C soundbar, a great thing by the way, but with Q-Symphony (i.e. TV speaker mixed with the soundbar) the sound quality really does not improve. Perhaps that is the case if you have a limited soundbar. So I just have the HDMI-eARC open, without TV speakers. As for the remote... well, I don't know. It works, but I find it cumbersome because you have to navigate through all kinds of options on your screen to select something. The joke is that my (14 year) old remote control from my previous Samsung TV (which is still great, but only HD...) works fine on the new TV. So I can go directly to the TV channel overview, digital channel overview, settings menu, select video source, enter a channel number, etc.... without all kinds of detours. Control via the telephone (Smart Things App) is also possible, but it is very similar to that fancy "simple" remote control that has been standard with Samsung TVs for a while. So give me that old one.... And user manuals... well. Just a few tips, mainly how to install it and that's it. I still haven't figured out what I can do with the four-color area behind the 123 button, for example... Also funny; 2 digital cable tuners in the TV. I can indeed watch 2 (Ziggo) channels at the same time without a media box or something like that. With a USB device on your TV you can also record one channel while watching the other, I read... I still have to try it out. We will see... I can recommend the TV (and get a bigger one if you are not as close to it as we are).
