The emergency button function is a disaster

I bought this phone for my father (over 80) specifically because of the emergency button function. However, this one is a complete disaster. When the emergency button is activated by the person in need, the Emporia Glam starts blaring a loud alarm that is almost impossible to turn off. The noise goes through your very bones, almost forcing you to throw the thing against the wall to stop the noise. The emergency contacts who receive this emergency call on their own mobile phone (first you receive a text message, then you are automatically called) do not even get to speak to the person in need. The emergency call hangs in a kind of loop and repeats the same pre-programmed tune over and over again: "This is an emergency call ... blablabla". When you try to call the person in need yourself, you are told in English that the telephone number is not available! The person in need must first turn off their mobile phone and then turn it on again to reset everything and cancel the emergency call. Only afterwards can you call and speak to the person in need. This is too absurd for words. There is no way you can get an older person in need who is confused and panicking on the phone. For the rest, this is an okay device, but if you are looking for a mobile phone with a handy emergency button, then this is certainly not the device for you!
