According to our drone expert
Enjoy flying for a long time with the DJI Mavic Pro Fly More Combo + Smart Controller. You receive 2 extra batteries, reserve propellers, an ND filter set, and a useful carrying bag. With the extra batteries, you can extend the flight time of your drone with 86 minutes. The included Smart Controller has a built-in screen on which you can watch the live footage of your drone. You can control it without a smartphone. Thanks to the 3 cameras, the drone is versatile in use. It has a Hasselblad wide-angle lens and 2 telephoto lenses. You can capture far-away subjects and small details. Tap the screen to easily switch cameras. You record razor-sharp images in 4K resolution that look professional.
Image qualityThe focal length of the Hasselblad camera is the same as on a 24mm full-frame camera. Thanks to the wide image angle, you can capture wide landscapes. With the medium telephoto camera, you take razor-sharp photos with 48 megapixels. You don't lose many details when you crop them. This camera has a 70mm focal length. The third camera has a large focal length of 166mm. You can take photos of animals without getting close, which results in special images. You record in the 10-bit D-Log file format, which means you get realistic colors. As a result, you can accurately edit your footage.
Flight timeWith a fully charged battery, you can fly for 43 minutes. You receive 2 extra batteries to extend the flight time with 86 minutes. Thanks to the obstacle detection sensors, you can fly without being worried. The sensors recognize obstacles from all sides and automatically fly around them. This reduces the risk of a collision. If you use the Cruise Control function, the drone flies ahead by itself. You only have to choose the direction. This way, the drone moves less and you can make smooth recordings.
Laws and regulationsFrom 2021, new European drone regulations apply. This means that drone pilots must register themselves if they own a drone that weighs more than 250g or has a camera. You receive an operating number that needs to be attached on your drone and clearly visible. This drone has a C2 label and flies in the open A2 category. This means you need a basic drone course for this. You also have to fly at least 30m away from people.

Bought the Mavic 3 Pro because I hoped it would be a big improvement over my Mavic 2 Pro for photography. I hardly do video. The first thing that stood out is that the supplied remote quickly had connection problems. Also in a side-by-side test, my Mavic 2 Pro went almost twice as far without giving another notification, where the Mavic 3 Pro was already sent "home" due to bad connection. This was without obstacles in the polder and will therefore be worse in a difficult situation. A considerable disappointment because the remote with screen seems more convenient to me than always connecting the phone. So you would already have to go to the much more expensive remote for the same range as my old Mavic 2 Pro. (I had already read a review about this!) Despite the 7x telephoto lens being improved, still not great for photography. Where my hopes were pinned on the M43 sensor of the main camera, I could hardly see any difference with the Mavic 2 Pro with the same RAW files. Perhaps with dark shots, but in the EU, unlike the USA, you are not allowed to fly at night. The 3x tele isn't great either and I'd better fly closer for better results with both the 2 Pro and 3 Pro. Given the minimum profit, reach remote and the hefty amount returned after a day. For video it will all be very different I suspect, but as I said I hardly do video, but 95% photography.
