Let me start by saying that I am very enthusiastic about this SMEG fully automatic espresso machine. First of all, it takes up little space on my counter and is incredibly user-friendly. I explain it in detail.
Compact in size with a width of 18 centimeters
With a width of 18 centimeters, the coffee maker fits anywhere in my kitchen. Not only does the machine have a nice size, but the design is also very beautiful. The machine consists of one whole and by that I mean that the bean grinder and the water reservoir are incorporated in the device. This is super handy when moving the machine, but it makes it less easy to see whether you need to top up the coffee beans or water. The coffee maker then makes a cup of coffee with all the water and coffee beans that are still in it and only gives a signal when the entire water reservoir is empty. However, this should not spoil the fun.
Easy in use
The coffee maker only has 5 buttons. This makes it easy to use. I choose between 6 coffee specialties, from an espresso to a large lungo. In addition, there are functions for frothing milk and hot water for a cup of tea. You switch between 2 menus via the button at the front. One menu consists of all kinds of espressos and hot water. The other menu consists of larger coffees and a milk frothing function. The coffee spout is adjustable so it fits both a small espresso cup and a large mug. As soon as the machine starts making coffee, a light lights up, so you can see the coffee coming out of the machine and you know when the coffee is ready.
Making coffee without waking up my roommate
If I want to make a cup of coffee in the morning, I don't wake up the whole house as soon as the beans are grinding. The coffee maker is relatively quiet for a fully automatic machine.
Coffee and milk quality
The machine makes good quality coffee, this is largely due to the coffee beans you put in it. But anything but a weak cup of coffee comes out. The coffee tastes very good. In addition to black coffees, I make a cappuccino from a double espresso by frothing milk with the steam nozzle.
