The device exhibits the following issues:
After setting the zone, the device claims it will take just over 14 hours to mow the zone. In reality, it takes about three days of approximately 14 hours to complete the mowing.
Due to this long mowing time, mowing cannot be programmed in the app, as the maximum mowing time per zone is 24 hours.
The device mows the same areas multiple times during the same mowing session (which partly explains the much longer mowing time).
The device goes outside the designated zone, causing it to be "caught" about three times per mowing session.
It is impossible to divide the zone into smaller sections.
I reported all these issues directly to Dreame.
My first contact was on May 16th because the firmware needed to be updated before I could use the device. The Wi-Fi signal was too weak. I placed the device in the living room, next to the Wi-Fi box, to ensure sufficient network coverage. Ultimately, the problem turned out to be with their server.
My next contact was on May 30th. By that point, I had already spent hours trying to schedule the entire zone (1800m², not even the full 3000m² the manufacturer claims the device can handle) for automatic mowing. Dreame's feedback was that a firmware update would be released at the end of June that would fix the zone splitting issue.
On July 4th, I contacted them again because the promised firmware update still hadn't arrived. On July 7th, I was told they would prioritize updating my device.
On July 9th, I was indeed able to perform the long-awaited firmware update. However, my problem wasn't described in the fixes, and this also became apparent when I tried to split the zone after the update; it still didn't work. I reported this to them immediately.
On July 11th, I noticed that the device's performance was deteriorating instead of improving. Where I previously managed to mow 1800m² in two 2-hour days, I suddenly needed an extra day. Moreover, the device was already outside the defined area (where I let the grass grow wild). I provided photos of both areas to Dreame, but they again offered no real solution.
My conclusion is very simple: the device is technically sound, and the mowing is accurate and neat. However, the battery seems too small, so after an hour of mowing, it needs an hour to charge.
However, there's a lot wrong with the software, which means that in my experience, the device can't handle an area of 3000m² at all. Even half that is a real challenge, meaning the device has to work about 6 out of 7 days a week to keep up with the grass during the height of the growing season.
I specifically purchased the device for its larger area capacity. My entire garden is over 10,000m², so I've been very selective about the areas I have mowed. Unfortunately, it doesn’t do what it claims to do.
