This CD player is in addition to my Denon AVR-X2500H and then you immediately notice that, especially in the dark, the brightness of the display is a world of difference and the text is many times smaller. And yes, I know that there are multiple positions on the dimmer...
The green light of the power supply is also very vague compared to the receiver and it seems as if you are dealing with 2 completely different brands. Really sorry Denon....
Less than 2 years ago I bought a Denon DCD-720AE with USB connection for the same amount and it did display large clear text (probably due to the USB option). I should never have put away in a fit of madness, but that's a thing of the past.
The DCD-600NE, on the other hand, just does what it's supposed to do and for the simple job of playing original CDs it just does what it's supposed to do. Also fortunately equipped with an optical and coaxial output, you actually have all the connections at your disposal.
The remote probably only works in combination with an amplifier from the 600 or 800 series and that is really a shame. No function of the remote control works with my AVR-X2500H, while the remote control actually contains the buttons for Setup and Menu, which have no function on the amplifiers of the above series.
In the past I may have owned some really beautiful well thought out CD players from Denon, but this is really a Monday morning design. He does, but that's about all. If you still own a DCD-720AE, cherish it.....
