I find the Pierre PCG5000 Multi a handy contact grill that's easy to operate and heats up quickly. Thanks to the interchangeable plates, I make not only toasted sandwiches but also waffles. The grill doesn't have a timer, so I can keep an eye on how long something cooks.
Ease of Use
The operation is easy. I set the temperature with the dial, and the lights clearly indicate when the grill is ready. It reaches the desired temperature in no time. The plates are easy to click in and out. They're sturdy, yet easy to switch. This is handy when I want to switch from grilling to baking waffles.
Grilling Results
The heat is evenly distributed, so my dishes cook beautifully evenly. Toasted sandwiches and paninis get a crispy exterior with a distinct grill pattern. The non-stick coating prevents waffles from sticking and turns out beautifully golden brown.
Design and Features
I can lock the top of the grill. This is handy when I want to gratinate something or keep it warm without direct contact with the food. The plates slope slightly towards the back, allowing grease to drain into the drip tray. The grease is neatly collected. If you prefer a grill with a built-in timer, you'll miss it here. But if you're looking for a powerful contact grill with many features, this is an excellent choice.
Cleaning
After use, I let the grill cool and then easily click the plates loose. The non-stick coating makes cleaning easy. A damp cloth is usually sufficient. For a more thorough cleaning, I simply put the plates in the dishwasher. The drip tray is also easy to rinse out.
