I got my machine at a nearly +/-15% discount as it was a tweedekansje. Full price would have been out of my budget.
That said, it arrived in better condition than I was expecting from the stated condition.
For the machine itself. The screen, although not OLED is still beautiful. Deep blacks, punchy colours. Super sharp. Running it a a higher resolution than apple wants you too (using "show all resolutions" to get real estate) its still so sharp it almost doesn't look like a screen.
Typing is as expected on a MacBook Pro. Solid, no flex and tactile. As good as the best windows laptops, and heaps better than most.
Running a couple of tests to check it (it was a tweede kansje) was where i had to smile. Da Vinci Resolve benchmark gave an FPS of 90 on the CPU and 380 on the GPU 20 mins after starting it. Fans were going full blast and were better than the business laptops Ive worked with at idle. And it wasn't hot - more than comfortable on my lap.
Of course it's macOS. So some things are better than windows, some worse. Opinions will differ there I'm sure.
Build quality is again what you expect from a MackBook Pro. Better than any windows laptops I've used (and I love my Dell XPS 15 from 2021).
Trackpad, likewise. I have reached for my mouse yet.
Assuming that nothing breaks before then, i expect to be using this until it runs out of support. Its got such power that i dont see it needing to be replaced in the next 8 years at least. Some tasks were so fast u thought they hadn't run.
