With the ETNA OFS956ZG steam oven, I can prepare healthy meals. The full steam function is suitable for a whole meal. Thanks to the telescopic rails, I can easily slide my baking trays out of the oven. It does take some getting used to the controls, though.
First Impression
The first thing I notice about the steam oven is the sleek black finish. When the oven is off, I can't see the interior. My baking trays and steaming dishes don't stand out, and the oven is a nice, dark surface. While baking, the bright lights are on, so I can easily see how my food is progressing. The controls are also easy to use. I can quickly select between the different oven functions on the TFT display. With the automatic programs, I even see a color picture of the food. I did have to search for the steam function a bit, though, because it wasn't listed directly among the oven functions, but under "More Systems."
Full Steam Function
I like to cook healthy, and this steam oven helps me with that. The oven has full steam, which means I can steam a whole meal. First, I try a piece of salmon and some vegetables. Thanks to the time-controlled steam injections, my food doesn't dry out and stays soft and tender. The vegetables also retain a brighter color. Because of the steam, I use less oil and butter, which makes my ingredients taste even fresher. With a 77-liter capacity, I also have plenty of space to prepare multiple components of my dish. I also use the steam function when I'm baking cookies with my daughter on Sunday mornings. This way, they also get a crispy outer layer.
Easy to use
I really appreciate the telescopic rails. They extend completely, making it easy to slide the baking tray out. This way, I don't have to reach into the oven with my hands when my casserole is ready. Or I can season my vegetables a little extra halfway through without the baking tray tipping over. The oven also has 73 automatic programs. Handy when I'm not sure how to prepare my dish best. I get my oven fries extra crispy with the air fry function. To prepare food even better, the oven can also be expanded with an air fryer basket and a core temperature probe.
Minimal Cleaning
Cleaning the oven is my least favorite chore. That's why I really appreciate that this oven has a hydrolytic function. The steam clean program loosens all the baked-on residue. Convenient, because it means I don't have to scrub after baking or steaming. After the program, I wipe everything up with a damp cloth, and my oven is completely clean again.
