According to our television expert
With the Sony OLED KD-48A9, you can watch movies and series with a lifelike image display. Thanks to the 48-inch OLED screen, the images have deep black levels and a realistic color representation. The X1 Ultimate processor from Sony ensures that the colors come into their own. In addition, the smart processor adjusts images with a low resolution to 4K sharpness. This way, you can watch sharp and clear images from every source. The Acoustic Surface audio system and the subwoofer provide a powerful sound reproduction. Because the screen functions as a speaker, the audio comes right out of the image. That makes the sound extra realistic. You have a clear overview of apps like Netflix and YouTube on the Android smart TV platform.

What a very pleasant development, small OLED TVs. Since I didn't want to go for corruptions of OLED (QLED and the like) because it mainly concerns optical illusions and because there is simply nothing that can come close to the contrast and black values of OLED, but unfortunately nothing was available below 55 until recently. This format is really a welcome addition to the OLED TV market.
The TV hangs on our kitchen wall. The size is ideal for that.
In terms of looks, the TV is sober, but you can see that quality has been delivered. No fuss. I personally prefer they save the fuss for the inside and Sony seems to have done that.
The TV is nice and smooth and responsive, in terms of apps and the Android OS. No complaints about that.
Nice and clear remote control with speech function that also works well.
Integration with other Google home products works well so far.
The only downside is the setting out of the box. This is really a mockery. It really needs to be calibrated to get a really OLED-worthy picture from the TV.
With a little search on the web you can find a manual for a comparable device (note that the engine and panel are the same). And with about 10 minutes you can really enjoy how an OLED TV should perform.
All in all a nice thing, which I do not regret so far.

This device is a real winner, you can already see this when you take it out of the box. The device is nicely finished and stands on a nice foot. Installing is a piece of cake as the installation guide is very good. The first experience with the image reproduction is really great, the sound is reproduced very well (very good highs and lows) and comes out of the screen, as it were, which entails a very realistic reproduction. There is a lot of choice in terms of apps and the internet is also very fast. The remote control is very clear and beautiful. All possible digital connections are present.
