Drying performance
Design
Quite loud. Always needed to close door leading to washroom during use and machine could still be heard quite loudly (even outside!) during spin cycle. Would not use during quiet hours out of courtesy to neighbors. Machine also had to be levelled several times throughout the year, and would walk out of place a few months after being levelled. Our machine also broke just out of warranty (at 2 1/2 years of use). We had a mechanic come to check the machine after it suddenly started blowing a fuse every time we tried to use it. It turns out the concrete counterweights inside the drum just broke apart and then rattled around in the machine causing wires to break which resulted in the electrical overload during use. Since the entire drum would have to be disassembled, repairing this would cost twice a new machine. The mechanic who came to diagnosed the issue mentioned that she had seen this issue in several LG models... we bought a Bosch to replace it.

Took this new washing machine and dryer from LG after 10 years. Specially selected because it would be super quiet. But alas, this is a bad buy. When the washing machine starts, water is pumped into the machine about 6 times very briefly. That is really crazy and causes chattering water pipes. Never had a washing machine before. With spin, the whole house resonates, while the washing machine stands level on a concrete floor. The dryer makes a lot of humming noises, much more than the 10 year old Siemens dryer. Unfortunately this set is going back.
