Description

With the Philips 42OLED809- Ambilight (2024), you can enjoy a high contrast, natural colors, and razor-sharp images. The 4K OLED display has millions of pixels that light up, dim, and turn off individually. This way, you can watch vibrant images where black is truly black. For example, you don't see a light glow around stars on this TV. The TV has 3-sided Ambilight lighting which colors the wall behind it. This is good for your eyes and adds some atmosphere to your room. On the Google TV smart platform, you can easily find all your apps in a nice overview. This way, you can easily switch between your favorite series on Netflix and that new episode on Disney+.

A beautiful television with excellent image properties

I have had this television for a week now. It has a hefty price tag, but you get a lot in return. I cannot assess the sound of the television because I connected it to my amplifier via the digital output. Airplay is also available and I have already linked my Macmini.

Pricey

The 42" version is for me the maximum size I can place in my dining room. The image is beautiful from the factory: clear, beautiful colors and of course you can adjust it to your own taste. Connected to the Sonos Play Base with an optical cable, but even without an external sound system it is worth it. Added some frequently used streaming apps (Go Play, Streamz, VRT Max, VTM GO, Telenet TV), as well as the Kodi app to stream from the NAS. On the first day I noticed a light stripe in the upper left corner of the Oled screen. After removing residual images, the stripe had disappeared. 'Ambilight' is included and if you don't want it, you can switch it off. So far very satisfied.
