Good flat suction, but make sure there is a non-return valve

My previous submersible pump gave up the ghost (short circuit, but luckily no accident). This one has good suction and an automatic vent. However, I had to buy a separate check valve. You pay a lot of money for such a small thing, and it doesn't work perfectly, but it's better than no check valve, because then you'll immediately have 1-2 liters of water flowing back.
