Cleaning your deep fryer

In addition to replacing the frying fat, it is also very important to regularly clean your fryer. Not only do you ensure that your fries are nicely crispy, but it is also much healthier. Read on to find out how to safely clean your fryer.

Before you start

It looks like an in-store, but: unplug the plug! Remove the grease from the fryer and wipe the grease residue in the inner pan with a piece of kitchen paper. That saves scrubbing again. Which cleaning method you choose: always rinse the fryer with a little warm water and a clean tea towel.

Option 1: Clean your deep fryer with detergent

Frying pan taken apart

Prepare a soapy water with hot water and a dash of detergent. Preferably detergent with lemon, because that is the most degreasing and it smells nice and fresh. Use this soapy water and a soft sponge to clean the inner pan, the basket and also the lid and the outside of your deep fryer. Many crumbled remains? Let it soak for a while. Do not use a scouring sponge before scrubbing, as this may damage your deep fryer.

Option 2: Clean your deep fryer with a dishwasher tablet

Seperate parts in the dishwasher

Dismountable pans make cleaning a lot easier, because you put the loose parts in the dishwasher with a dishwasher tablet. Check the manual in advance to make sure that the parts are dishwasher safe. It is also possible to use a dishwasher tablet if you do not have a dishwasher-safe deep fryer.

  • Fill the inner pan for 3/4 with cold water
  • Put the frying basket in it
  • Add the dishwasher tablet and turn the fryer to a maximum of 10 minutes at 90 ā„ƒ
  • Make sure you leave a window open, because a lot of vapors can be released.

Option 3: Clean your deep fryer with deep fryer cleaner

Do you want to clean your deep fryer easily, but do not want fumes in the house and do not you mind paying a little more for it? Then use a fryer cleaner. Fill the inner pan with warm water, add the recommended dose of fryer cleaner and let it work for about 15 minutes.
