How do you know which laundry is and isn't suitable for the dryer?

To keep your laundry nice for longer, you have to check the laundry label on the inside. This'll say if the piece of clothing can go in the dryer and what to keep in mind. Not all fabrics are suitable. A delicate wool sweater is best to try flat on a laundry rack. You can read which laundry can and can't go in the dryer here.

Tip 1: check the laundry label

Before you start a dryer cycle, check the laundry label on the inside of your clothing. You'll find various symbols. These indicate if your laundry can go in the dryer and how to dry it best. A square with a circle and a cross means the laundry can't go in the dryer. Gently dry it on a laundry rack. A square with a circle and a single dot means you can dry it at a low temperature. If you see 2 dots, you can dry it at a regular temperature.

  • Panties
  • Clothing with sequin, beads, or studs
  • Rubber mats or shoes with a rubber sole
