The Siemens HB632GBS1 is an energy-efficient oven with 8 food preparation systems and an A+ energy label. With it's 71 liters of oven capacity, you have all the room you need for extensive baking. The oven has 5 rack levels, so you can prepare multiple dishes at the same time. You can use the dial to easily set the temperature of the oven up to 300 °C, making it just as suitable for baking pizzas and other dishes which require high temperatures. After 2 Ikea ovens that both broke down within 4 years, we have now gone for (hopefully) real quality. Because we recently also bought a Siemens extractor hood, we went for the HB632GBS1 oven. Delivery was (as usual with CoolBlue) a day later, with a smile. They took back the old oven and packaging material and put the new oven neatly in its place. Installation is simple: plug in, slide into the space, screw on with the supplied screws (note: TORX!) and you're done. The operation does take some getting used to, and even with the Dutch manual included, it is not always clear how certain functions work, but once you understand the logic, the oven works quite simply. With the rapid preheat button, the oven can be heated to 180 degrees in 5 minutes at 180 degrees (in Siemensland, this is apparently called 4D hot air). Furthermore, the oven does what you expect from it and the different settings (hot air/4D, electric, grill, or combinations of these) speak for themselves. The description of CoolBlue states that the oven has "catalytic walls that absorb the dirt and burn it", but I can't find anything about that in the manual. So it is either an automatic function, or the description of CoolBlue is not correct/is unclear. What I personally find a very big downside is that the oven does not have telescopic rails for the grids. The relatively cheaper oven from Ikea did have this, and that is a very nice accessory. You might expect that on an oven of this price range, in my opinion, but it is not insurmountable. The door, on the other hand, has a 'soft close' so that is a luxury. We have now used the oven a few times for bake-off rolls, cakes, pizzas and oven dishes and everything comes out neatly as expected/hoped. Another downside (or something we haven't discovered yet) is that if you preheat the oven without the 'quick preheat mode' you won't get a signal when the oven is up to temperature. You will hear a signal when preheating quickly. Also, you can't see how hot the oven is now during preheating (or we haven't discovered how to see that yet). That's something to look into.
