The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) is a large smartwatch with a robust design. Its sturdy design means it can withstand a few knocks. It has many sports functions and provides comprehensive insights into my health and sleep. The watch is large and heavy, so it's less suitable for narrow wrists.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) is made of titanium and feels sturdy. It's thick and heavy, and I can really feel it on my wrist. It took a few days to get used to it. I have a 17-centimeter wrist circumference, so the 47-millimeter watch is large. Therefore, the watch looks better on wider wrists. Large buttons on the sides are easy to use. The middle button is a dedicated button for quickly opening an app. The 2025 version is the same as the Ultra (2024) in terms of features and design, but you get twice the storage: 64 gigabytes. This allows you to store more routes and music, for example.

The Ultra (2025) screen is very bright and sharp. This makes it easy to read outdoors in bright sunlight. It has to be, as the watch is designed for the most extreme conditions. The screen is made of durable sapphire crystal, so it can easily withstand impacts.
Battery life of 3 to 4 days
The watch is suitable for trail running and other outdoor sports, so I expected the battery life to be longer than 3 or 4 days. If I turn on the power-saving mode and don't exercise, the watch lasts about 4 days. On days when I exercise and with the power-saving mode off, the battery life is about 3 days.
Many sports profiles and personal guidance
This smartwatch is suitable for avid athletes who enjoy trail running and triathlons, for example. I haven't done any of that with it, but I have run with it. I've just started working out again, so I could really use some guidance. Before I received a personalized schedule, I had to take a running test. The great thing about my schedule is that it offers a lot of variety. For example, I do interval training and endurance running each week. After each workout, I see how I did on the watch and receive tips. That's motivating.
Extensive insight into my sleep
After a busy day or a workout, I find it important to get enough rest. The Watch Ultra gives me a lot of insight into my sleep and how I can improve it, so I feel fit during the day. I know, among other things, when and for how long I was in each sleep phase, and what my heart rate was. The watch combines this data and more to give me a sleep score. In addition to this score, I also receive tips for improvement. For example, I receive a notification in the evening with the ideal time to go to bed. Thanks to these insights, I'm much more aware of my sleep and I go to bed on time more often.
