Unpacking: recognizable design with 2 cameras
Finally, there it is, the iconic white box with the brand-new Apple iPhone 11. What strikes me immediately is that the design is the same on many fronts as its predecessor: Apple iPhone Xr. The size feels the same, the front looks the same, and the bezels are made of matte aluminum. I only see the renewal when I turn the device over. There I find 2 cameras in a matte glass cover. The rest of the back is made of glossy glass. I see that the back is cut from one piece of glass and that looks very sleek.
Apple has chosen not to upgrade the Apple iPhone 11 screen. That means that the LCD screen is the same as its predecessor and has slightly more than 720 pixels. This is relatively low, considering that most modern devices have at least a 1080-pixel screen. Although the screen may be of a lower quality than comparable models, videos are still beautifully displayed. Do you want a device with the most advanced screen? Then that may be a reason not to opt for the iPhone 11.
Ultra wide angle camera: more image in one photo
Time to test the camera. On the front, the iPhone 11 has a 12-megapixel camera on the front. That's not much different than the iPhone Xr. But with this device, you can take selfies in slow motion. The big improvements can be found in the 2 cameras on the back of the device. With the 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, I can capture even more images in one photo or video. In addition, I can now take beautiful portrait photos.
Performance and battery: processor 20% faster
With the iPhone 11, I can binge my favorite series for up to 10 hours in a row. And that's perfect for me when I'm on the road for a long time and can't charge my iPhone. According to Apple, the battery of the Apple iPhone 11 lasts up to an hour longer than the battery of the Apple iPhone Xr. This is mainly thanks to the energy-efficient A13 Bionic Chip. In addition to being more economical, this chip is also faster. That means in practice that the chip in the Apple iPhone 11 is 20% faster than its predecessor.
Thanks to the super-fast A13 Bionic chip, the iPhone 11 is a future-proof smartphone. The ultra wide-angle lens is a huge addition to the predecessor of the iPhone 11, since you can capture a lot more image in one photo and that creates beautiful pictures. The LCD screen is beautiful compared to an iPhone 8. But if you want more advanced displays, you'll prefer a device like the iPhone 11 Pro.
