Out of the box the laptop did not perform well. Adjusting the brightness of the screen did not work (it was set to its brightest by default) and the audio stuttered. I had to manually install drivers from HP's website to resolve this issue. A lot of hassle for me, but there are plenty of people who can't handle it at all.

When everything finally worked, it turned out that the fan could be quite noisy. I also found the laptop very heavy. The screen is downright miserable: a pale TN panel with very mediocre brightness. Everything you play on the screen looks like someone treated it with bleach. If you sit outside, you can see very little on your screen, even on a cloudy day. The contrast is too low for that.

I then decided to return the laptop. If I had kept the laptop longer I probably would have encountered more problems. The laptop is well housed and looks nice, but it is clear that the entire budget was used up on it. Software that doesn't work out of the box and mediocre hardware. I then selected a cheaper laptop from Coolblue from another brand that performed better in all respects.
