The Lenovo LOQ 17IRX10 is an entry-level gaming laptop with a large screen that allows me to play medium-demand games smoothly in Full HD. I play most games without stuttering at a minimum of 60 frames per second. The laptop also feels a bit heavy.
Powerful NVIDIA RTX 5000 graphics card
The laptop easily handles medium-demand games thanks to the NVIDIA RTX 5060 graphics card. I play Cities Skylines 2 smoothly in Full HD with an average of 60 to 80 frames per second. The graphics card struggles to load high-detail graphics. I experience stuttering and need DLSS Performance to maintain a consistent frame rate. I play Forza Horizon in Full HD with an average of 100 frames per second. In Flight Simulator, I get a message that the environments are too demanding for the graphics card, even with DLSS support enabled. Starfield barely reaches 60 frames per second with DLSS enabled and all settings set to ultra. Still, most modern games run very smoothly and without stuttering in Full HD.
Gaming look with RGB keyboard
The RGB backlit keyboard gives this laptop a true gaming look. Using Lenovo Vantage, I can easily set different lighting types, including different patterns. This Lenovo LOQ laptop also has a built-in docking station on the back. All cables are easily hidden, allowing me to play on a tidy desk. The large 17-inch screen gives me a good overview of my games. In Cities Skylines, I have a good view of my map, buildings, and roads without having to zoom out constantly. The only drawback is its weight. I find the laptop quite heavy, partly due to the plastic casing.
Good ventilation
The laptop stays cool while gaming, but it is noisy. The temperature stays around 60 degrees Celsius, which is normal for gaming. Due to its large size, the laptop has more air vents on the sides and back. This allows warm air to escape smoothly. Unfortunately, the bottom of the laptop does get a bit warm. The cooling works well for entry-level gaming, but for heavy gaming it is not enough.
