After first a long time with Garmin (Venu, Venu2, Venu2s) then with Samsung (Watch 5 Pro, Watch 6 classic)
still looking for a sports watch that could last longer than 1.5 days
Watch 6 beautiful watch and google wear works ideally in your google and samsung environment, but the battery life started to bother me too much
After looking around I saw the Huawei Watch GT5 Pro Silver, because I had already seen some positive reviews of it.
At first I hesitated for a long time to go for Garmin, because it is known and proven, social apps such as Strava, but they remain the same in menu and so on so not much changed
I made the decision and ordered Watch GT5 Pro and could pick it up the next day in the store and I also got the Huawei scale with it.
Once I got home and unpacked.
Then you see that Huawei is a big loss in the smartphone landscape.
Premium box, not like Samsung just a flat long rectangular box
Watch was nicely inserted in it, beautiful build quality
Fantastic screen, handy nice sturdy crown wheel and a manual to adjust your strap.
Removing the links is very easy because of the links they have provided.
Once the watch has started and the Huawei Health app has been downloaded
Very easy to connect (Samsung S24 Ultra) and the App is self-explanatory
What can this do, let me put it this way, everything.
Battery lasts 5 days for me.
This contains:
Screen always on
Continuous skin temperature measurement, heart rate, stress, blood oxygen
Smartphone notifications, you can choose which apps
Whatsapp you can send messages back via watch keyboard
But you can only see regular SMS and not send them back
Calling with watch, very clearly audible and understandable
Sleep measurement that is very correct and where you can also tell the app on your phone that you are going to sleep. The amount of ambient noise in your sleeping area is also measured. Recording of snoring or talking during your sleep (like Samsung, but with Samsung you could have this automatically synced if you put your Watch to sleep)
In your sleep report you can find a lot of information about how your sleep was
Automatic recognition of sports (walking, running) is also on
When running, very good and fast GPS reception
While running you can see and hear a lot of details (very good speaker) and you can set your tiles yourself what you want to see
Also handy that you can use the crown wheel to scroll and stop (With Samsung you had to use the screen)
After running an extensive report as you can find everywhere, speed, rhythm, how you land, balance L and R, how long your body needs for recovery etc.
Map of how you ran and nice clear correct lines
After 30 minutes the watch also asks if you want to do a heart rate measurement, to check your health
The only thing you can't do if you want to be fast, is share your data via Strava or something. It is possible via a detour, but for me this is not necessary
What could the Samsung do: Google home control, messages with photos (Whatsapp, sms, Instagram) you got to see the photo on your watch, camera control.
Do I miss this, no.
What the Huawei is just really much better
And certainly with the scales, you can really monitor your entire health well.
Will I recommend this watch, definitely
