How do you clean and degrease your WMF Perfection?
By degreasing your WMF Perfection once per month, you prevent blockages and defects. With a cleaning tablet, you can clean coffee oil residue from the pipes of your WMF fully automatic coffee machine. In this article, we'll explain how to do this in steps.
Get started with degreasing
In this video, we'll show you how to degrease your coffee machine step by step. This takes about 15 minutes. We'll go through these steps with you:

- Step 2. Run the cleaning program
You need:
- Cleaning tablet
- Container of at least 600ml
How often should you degrease?
To get the best results, you repeat the steps on this page each month or when your appliance notifies you. This way, you prevent defects and blockages. The cleaning tablets remove coffee oil residue from the pipes of your espresso machine, so they don't get blocked.
Step 1: prepare the cleaning
- Touch the 'i' icon on the display of the machine.
- Choose 'clean' to select the descaling program.
- Confirm this with 'start'.
- Empty the drip tray in the sink.
- Take the water tank out of the coffee machine.
- Fill the water tank up to 'max'.
- Place the full water tank back in the coffee machine.
- Open the container for filter coffee and place your cleaning tablet in there.
Step 2: run the cleaning program
- Place the container under the coffee outlet and confirm this on the display.
- The cleaning program runs for 9 minutes.
- The device notifies you in between that you have to empty the container.
- Empty the container in the sink.
- Place the container back under the coffee outlet and confirm this on the display.
- The cleaning program goes on for 4 more minutes.
- Empty the container again.
- Empty the drip tray again.
- The cleaning program is finished.
