How do you descale your Krups Evidence?
In this article, we'll explain how to descale the Krups Evidence. We recommend you to descale your machine in time, because you can extend the lifespan of your Krups coffee machine that way. Do this once every 4 months. The machine will notify you. It will take about 20 minutes.

We'll explain how to descale your Krups espresso machine in 3 steps. These are the steps we'll go through:

You need:
- Krups descaler
- 600ml container
How often should you descale?
When the machine needs to be descaled, it'll notify you. This will be once every 3 months on average if you use a water filter. Not using a water filter? You'll have to descale your Krups fully automatic machine every other month. We recommend you to use the Krups descaler for this. That's because this descaler is specially made for your machine.

Step 1: prepare the descaling
- The coffee machine indicates when it needs to be descaled, press 'OK'.
- Take the water tank out of the machine.
- Remove the water filter with the included attachment.
- Fill the water tank up to the 'Calc' mark.
- Add Krups descaler to this and mix properly.
- Place the water tank back into the machine.
- Place a container of at least 600ml under the coffee outlet and press 'OK'.
Step 2: descale the machine
- The machine will start the descale program right away.
- When the coffee machine doesn't give water anymore, you can remove the container and empty it.
- Take the water tank out of the machine and rinse it thoroughly.
- Fill the water tank with fresh drinking water up to the 'Max' mark and place the water tank back into the machine.
- Place back the container.
Step 3: rinse the machine
- Press 'OK' to start the first rinse.
- After a couple of minutes, a message on the display will appear that tells you to empty the container.
- Place back the empty container.
- Press 'OK' for the second rinse.
- Remove the container when the message on the display tells you to.
- Remove the drip tray and coffee grounds container from the coffee machine.
- Empty both parts and place them back into the machine.
- Take the water tank out of the machine.
- Place the water filter into the water tank with the included attachment.
- Fill the water tank and put it back.
- The machine is now done with descaling.
