Why oil your paper shredder?
While shredding with your paper shredder, paper dust gets between the blades. This slowly affects the blades and decreases both their cutting power and lifespan. That's why it's advisable to remove this dust with a (brand-specific) lubricating oil. For optimum blade durability, we recommend lubricating the machine when emptying the paper container. Lubrication is necessary for all paper shredders of DIN P-3 and up. For paper shredders with DIN P-1 or DIN P-2, lubrication isn't necessary but it can't hurt either.
