I have owned this headset for about two weeks and have not regretted my purchase yet. First of all, I would like to briefly mention why I chose this headset.
Why Logitech 430?
I had been looking for a nice and good headset with which I can listen to music and games and with which I can communicate with my teammates for a while. The main focus of my purchase was the price. Like many people, I want the most without having to pay the most. Thanks to the handy decision aid on the Coolblue site, I eventually ended up with this headset.
The Logitech 430G offers the best specs for the best price in my opinion, the 7.1 surround certainly helped with this. I personally also think the design of the headset is fantastic, the metal brackets give a feeling of sturdiness and gives more confidence in the build quality.
The package
This headset is currently the fourth item I purchase from Coolblue, just like the previous items, everything was delivered on time. I was a bit surprised at the size of the box but I was happy to see that everything was very well protected. So I don't have much to say about the delivery other than that it was perfect as usual.
The headset
When I first took the headset out of the box, I was really happy with the design. Personally, I think the headset looks stylish. As mentioned in the description, you can remove the ear pads and rotate the ear cups.
Usage
The headset is very easy to use, set size, install software from the Logitech site and start gaming! What was a pity is the lack of an automatic mute function when one raises the microphone. In the beginning I thought this was a bit of a shame but now I think it's better this way because this function often gets damaged by using it a lot.
The software that you can download on the site ensures that you can use the 7.1 surround (see photo). However, the surround disappointed me a bit. The sound sometimes comes across as a bit cardboard-like and often has a kind of reverberating effect. In games like Battlefield you do notice the surround (so I could locate a drain) but it is not always convincing. Of course you can adjust the different sound channels and the bass via the software. What I do want to mention here is that the headset itself does not have 7.1 channels, but the sound card takes care of this. So you can perfectly enjoy 7.1 surround with stereo headphones. This made me a bit doubtful whether I had made the right choice and not better have bought a sound card with a cheaper headset.
I like the microphone and the sound in general. The microphone is clear and ensures that you can be heard clearly by other people. If you just want to listen to music, you also have crystal clear sound.
The headset is also very comfortable. The pads are thick enough to prevent your ears and head from hurting after a few hours. I have to say that the pillow can sometimes cause some pain in the beginning, but after a week this goes away.
Recommended?
Despite the slight disappointment of the 7.1 surround, I would still recommend this product. For this price you can of course not expect the best surround or have the best sound card. For this price, however, you do get a nice headset with sound card, but if you want better surround, I would personally recommend taking another sound card that supports Dolphy Headphone.
