Use the Startech 2-port 2-to-1 USB 3.0 Switch to use peripherals on 2 computers simultaneously. For example, you can connect a printer to this switch and print documents from 2 PCs. You can also pool the data from 2 computers on 1 external hard drive. You can easily switch between the 2 computers with the buttons on the top of the switch.
We had the problem that we have to put 2 pc on a printer. This is the best outcome

Works fine, with the two push buttons you can easily switch between the two output ports. A light in the buttons indicates which port is currently active.
The supplied cables are relatively short, so if the distance between the two computers is large, you will need a USB extension cable. Furthermore, the device only has 1 USB input, so you still need a USB hub if you want to connect multiple USB devices (keyboard, mouse, stick, ...). After changing the output port, it takes about 10 seconds until a connected keyboard/mouse can be used, but that depends on the operating system and not on this device (you also have this if you manually plug a keyboard into the computer USB port) .
However, this is not a criticism of the product, everything works exactly as described. The above minuses are external factors and are only mentioned as extra information for other potential buyers.
