I am a hobby cyclist who, now that autumn is approaching, still wants to maintain a bit of condition, and therefore was looking for a solid home trainer. In the past, I've cycled a lot in different gyms, and I was specifically looking for one that felt as sturdy and solid as one in the gym.

I chose this model based on many reviews on various sites. After 2 workouts on this bike I am completely sold. Top device!

After delivery, I put the thing together on my own in less than half an hour. I don't agree with the various complaints that the assembly and manual are difficult or unclear. The different parts just don't always feel equally solid. The body with the handlebar and saddle rod are solid, but the various plastic parts feel very rickety here and there. In other words, the quality is not the same across the board.

I had pre-installed the iConsole and Kinomaps apps on my iPad, and created accounts for them, so I could get started right away. Both apps offer a lot. Kinomaps does offer a bit more, however, but for the price of 9.99 per month (or 79.00 per year). At the time of writing, I'm not sure if I think it's worth paying for the app (I'm still in my 7-day free trial). The advantage of iConsole is that it is free, and you can drive from point A to point B via Maps, anywhere in the world.
