According to our juicer expert
With the Philips Avance Masticating Juicer HR1946/7, you can easily make the tastiest juices and smoothies. You can do anything with this slowjuicer, from juicing fruits and wheatgrass to leafy vegetables and nuts. You can even make your own peanut butter. Thanks to the MicroMasticating technology, most nutrients are retained. It opens the cells of your vegetables and fruits, so you can get the most out of your ingredients. This way, you get all of the vitamins you need from your tasty home-made juice. Don't want a dirty counter? The drip stop prevents drops on your counter. After use, you can easily clean the individual parts of the slowjuicer under the faucet or in the dishwasher.

Cleaning
Slow juicer manufacturers claim that the juice contains more nutrients than fast-spinning centrifuges, but there's zero evidence for this! Subsequently, the juice yield should be much higher than old-fashioned quick turners, but for hard(er) vegetables such as celery - the main reason behind the purchase for me - the result is very disappointing, even after cutting everything small (< 1 cm.). Even after passing the pulp again, the efficiency was still lower than the juicer! The pulp from the same centrifuge only yielded a few drops after passing through, at approx. 100ml of the "own" pulp...
I do believe that very tasty juices can be made from vegetables and/or fruit that the juicer can do nothing with, but it also costs a QUARTER(!!!) of what this Philips Avance 1946/70 should yield. This device is of no use to me and it will therefore be returned by reverse mail.

Making a vegetable juice from spinach, parsley and celery, among other things, was not possible at all. The leafy greens are pushed through and become a mess. The celery immediately clogs the small filter.

I purchased this juicer to use with celery. And the first 3-4 times I used it, I received about 12 -14 ounces of juice from a package of celery, and the pulp was dry. Since then however, the pulp is very wet, and I am only getting about 6-8 ounces of juice from the same amount of celery. I clean it quickly after each use, and follow the instructions. Perhaps this juicer is not meant for celery.
