Although I first set my mind on an OLED (C7), it eventually fell off because OLEDs still suffer from vertical banding and that burn-in is certainly a risk with children who dare to leave the TV on with the loading screen from their Mario Party. In the end it went between the XE90 and XE93, but since the latter now costs just as much as the lesser XE90, the choice was made quickly.

After the always pleasant delivery experience that Coolblue offers, it was time for the installation. Despite the enormous weight, unpacking and installing was not that bad, although you absolutely have to be with 2 people.

In the first hours, some drawbacks were immediately apparent, all of which have to do with the enormous size (65"). First of all, the cable management is ingenious, but once the TV is on a piece of furniture 20 cm from the wall, you think differently After all, it is then only possible for basketball players to be able to access everything at the back to lay the cables nicely and place the cover plates.The fact that the power cord is fixed to the TV and is only 1m50 long does not really help either.

Another disadvantage of such a huge screen is that a lot more from your environment is reflected in the screen. The screen is matte and does not reflect excessively, but due to the size and the fact that the screen tilts slightly backwards, you can see almost every lamp in your room reflecting in the screen.

A final disadvantage of the enormous size is that the glass plate is not perfectly flat. You don't notice this when watching TV, but when the TV is off, you can see some undulation in the glass in the reflections, which gives a bit of a sloppy impression in a living room.

The most important thing is of course the image and that is (depending on what you play) breathtaking. Enough 4K/HDR videos on YouTube to make your jaw drop. But even at the cartoons of the children you still keep staring to enjoy the sharpness of the image and the enormously sparkling colors.

The viewing angle is also a big plus. In most reviews you see this as the number 1 disadvantage of this TV, but I think it is not that bad in practice. Even if you look at a 45-degree angle, the image is certainly still beautiful enough to fully enjoy it.

In a dark room, a few downsides of the image come to the fore. As can be read in many reviews, you occasionally notice blooming where a pale haze can be seen around a bright object (eg subtitles) in a dark scene. To what extent you find that disturbing will be personal. Downright sad, though, is the awful clouding (gray cloud shapes on a black screen) in menus and screens in apps like Netflix or YouTube. For some reason, the backlight is then maximal with Local Dimming off. As soon as film material (eg YouTube video) starts, the Local Dimming suddenly works and you suddenly see an almost jet black screen. I was hesitant to return the TV for this, but it turns out that a lot of copies have this, and in the end you don't buy the TV to look at menus or transition screens.
