According to our processor expert
This processor is very suitable for multitasking, thanks to Octa-Core.
Overclocking the processor is possible thanks to an unlocked multiplier.
With a maximum power consumption of 65 watts (TDP), the processor requires less power than a comparable Intel processor.
The processor doesn't have integrated AMD graphics, so you'll need a separate video card to send the video signal to your monitor.
This processor will only work in combination with a socket AM4 motherboard.
The AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor has an architecture with 14nm-wide transistors, and is code-named Summit Ridge. The Ryzen 7 1700 has Octa-Core technology, 16MB L3 cache and a 3.0GHz standard clock speed. It can also be overclocked thanks to the unlocked multiplier.
The AMD Ryzen 7 1700 uses the AM4 socket. If you'd like to use this processor, check whether your motherboard makes use of this socket first.
Good high-end GPU for the price, works well and the workload is distributed surprisingly well over the cores.
