According to our cooler expert
An absorption cooler can be powered by 12 volts, 230 volts, and gas.
The noise level of an absorption cooler is much lower than that of other types of coolers.
The cup holders on the lid can hold a cup of coffee or a bottle.
The cooler is relatively heavy, so it's not as easy to carry with you.
The Dometic CombiCool RC 1600 EGP is a practical, silent absorption cooler with a capacity of 31 liters. Because the cooler has a car charger, a regular connector, and a gas connector, you can also use it in places without a power supply. Moreover, thanks to the piezo ignition, you don't have to use a lighter. The cooler is tall enough to hold upright 1.5-liter water bottles. At regular power, the CombiCool RC 1600 EGP has 7 cooling modes, with the highest setting cooling down to 25 degrees below the ambient temperature. Because an absorption cooler is silent, you won't have to deal with annoying noise.
Nice fridge for in the tent and on the road, have had some experience with a similar model but now bought one myself. Cools well, even in France with temperatures of around 30-35 degrees, the refrigerator stays cool on setting 3. The downside is that the initial cooling from room temperature takes quite a while, but this has to do with the (silent!) technique used.
