The dock makes it very easy to use the Switch on TV. Once it's set up, there's no more hassle with cables. I use it almost daily to continue playing the games I play on the train at home on the big screen.
However, I don't think this is a very suitable dock to take with you on a trip: the setup can be quite a hassle, especially with the short charging plug. A travel dock is perhaps more recommended for this, but unfortunately they are all third party.
Also, the thing is much more expensive than it needs to be. I ask myself why; maybe it has to do with all USB and HDMI ports?

Very practical if you regularly want to use the Switch on a large screen at multiple locations. In my opinion, far too high a price for a literal piece of plastic with an HDMI connection and a mains adapter. If the Switch is placed even slightly too diagonally, it will not make contact. Definitely not high-tech.
