According to our binoculars expert
The rubber housing provides extra grip
The 16x magnification takes objects far away to you
View more image with the 54.4 degree angle of view
The binoculars are not waterproof.
With the Olympus 8-16x40 DPS-I you can easily view fast moving subjects in the distance. This makes the binoculars suitable for nature and safari trips. The 16x magnification makes it easier to get closer to your subject in the distance, like birds high in the tree. With the large image angle of 54.4 degrees you can easily follow fast moving subjects. The exit pupil of 5 mm ensures that you also see enough after sunset. The viewer does not slip out of your hands during safari trips and walking tours thanks to the rubber grip. Set the viewer for each eye separately with the built-in diopter correction for razor sharp image.
Easy to take with you and great to take on mountain walks, for example. Can zoom in far with it.

After 2 previous binoculars, an 8x40 and a 10x25, the Olympus 8-16x40 is a new purchase and I am very satisfied with this product. The 8 to 16x stepless magnification is ideal for spotting planes, birds, ships, etc. Even at the maximum magnification of 16x, the image remains very sharp and you only lose a minimal image clarity. Even in the evening, at twilight, you still have a sufficiently clear image for spotting. The carrying case is light and comfortable. In short: a very high-quality binoculars for a competitive price. Highly recommended for anyone who likes bird watching, airplanes etc....

To be honest I have little experience with binoculars. Without delving too much into it, I chose this one because of the specifications compared to comparable models. The zoom in particular is unique and very pleasing. What also stands out is the build quality and design. The binoculars lie well in the hand and operation of the zoom and focusing is smooth. The disadvantage is that it is a bit heavier, so keeping it up for a long time takes a little more effort.
