With the AEG Plancha Grill plate I can easily grill meat, fish and vegetables. The hob is also easy to clean. Choosing the right cooking setting is a bit of research.
Enough space
The grill plate is large and heavy. As a result, it does not move quickly and I have enough space to prepare several pieces of meat and vegetables at the same time. The large surface is also a godsend if not everyone likes the same thing. For example, I grill a steak for a friend, while I put a pointed pepper and zucchini on the plate for myself.
Grill plate stays hot for a long time
The cast iron surface of the hob heats up well and also retains this heat for a long time. Handy when I'm cooking for several people and not everything fits on the plate at once. It does take some getting used to that I can't clean and tidy up everything immediately after cooking. The grill plate needs some time to cool down.
Handles stay cool well
I don't have fireproof hands. Fortunately, that doesn't matter for the grill plate, because the handles don't get hot during cooking. I easily lift the grill from the hob to the table without putting on oven gloves.
Just find the right position
Grilling with a grill plate on the hob is something I've never done before. That's why I had to find out what the right setting was the first time. Too hot is not recommended, but on a very low setting, the grill plate needs quite a long time to heat up. After lifting my zucchini 4 times and not seeing any grill marks, I turned the heat up a bit. That turned out to be the correct position. If you are as impatient as I am, I would immediately set the hob to a medium heat setting.
Cleaning is easy
I'll admit it: doing the dishes is the least favorite part of cooking. Fortunately, the grill plate is so clean with dish soap and a cloth. The encrusted oil and grease residues come off easily.
