According to our soundbar expert
You can use the integrated Google Assistant to control the soundbar with your voice.
Add the soundbar to the LG multi-room system and stream music throughout the house.
Dolby Atmos sends effects through the ceiling to your listening position, making the sound extra spacious.
You'll have to purchase an HDMI or optical cable yourself in order to connect the soundbar to the TV.
Create a realistic movie experience with the LG SL8YG. The soundbar supports Dolby Atmos, so the sound comes from all corners of the room. The soundbar itself directs the sound to the ceiling, which gives you a spacious sound experience. For an optimal Dolby Atmos experience, connect the bar to rear speakers. The included subwoofer ensures that sound effects are brought forward extra well. You can control the soundbar with voice commands via the integrated Google Assistant. Linking the soundbar to the Google Home app on your smartphone allows you to not only control your music via voice activation, you can also use it to ask the Google Assistant about the weather, traffic, or your own calendar.
Very good sound, very nice functions through the Google assistant. ARC connection took a while to find, but works fantastically well once it is set correctly. A really great device for the price!

had the LG Sl4y for this, spk-8 was too lyid even on the lowest setting, now the speakers in the bar and the spk-8 can be tuned well so that I only get the sound as intended

nice sound. It's just a bit too high for the TV, so the remote doesn't always pick up well on the TV
