First of all, the lamp was purchased because it is a Hue lamp.
We are big fans of the HUE product line at home. Because unlike many competitors, the lamps are very well adjustable.
Like very well dimmable: lowest position of the light is really almost off, even in the middle of the night it really is a mini night light. at the other end of the spectrum, it really does provide enough light for any work. Together with starting values and other smart features that hue lamps have, it works really great. For anyone who is familiar with hue, there are no surprises here, the top and bottom can be found as 2 separate full color lamps in the hue app.
But then the lamp itself.
The installation:
The distance between the 2 is of course custom, so you have to drill into the ceiling to hang the lamp.
We were unlucky to drill on the steel wire the first time, so we got an extra hole in the ceiling.
Once the holes have been drilled, the screws are screwed in and then the lamp hangs on the screws and weighed to the side, after which you have the option to tighten the screws further. This makes the lamp (if you can put it somewhere at a height nearby (for example on a chair that is on the table) very easy to install, even on your own!. After all, you do not have to hold and screw the lamp at the same time.
My drill for screwdriving was too big to screw properly. Space could be slightly larger there, but it is certainly not unworkable.
The shade fits nicely against the ceiling, but there is no way to route the power cable in if it is not above the lamp. So a piece of plastic was immediately cut away with a box cutter + an auction afterwards. The space is also on the side where the philips logo is, somewhere I think that's a shame, I would have liked this space on the other side of the hood, but there is a steel plate there, so you can't guide the cable there.
The threads still show some bumps after 3 days, expect this to disappear over time due to the constant weight that hangs on them.
Pairing and the light:
Pairing with the HUE bridge went perfectly. Turn on the lamp, and the lamp was immediately visible in the hue app. Light is nicely even over the entire length of the lamp, even when the colors are on.
Details:
At the end of the lamp is a bit of sealant to seal the lamp, this is not done neatly, and looks like plugs, most of it has now been picked away. but that was a pity. There are several examples of this on the internet.
You also hang the lamp at 1 height, if you want to adjust this later, the lamp has to open and it takes effort to fix both sides at exactly the same height.
Raising the lamp because there are taller people at the table, or lowering it for extra light is therefore not possible.
lamp must hang very straight as the smallest deviation is very clearly visible due to the length of the lamp.
Although I am very critical here to create the best possible picture for you and highlight everything that I have noticed. it is a fantastic lamp!
I am very satisfied with the purchase and can only recommend it!.
