Gigaset E290M

Bought a set for my parents. The design is just as boring as all other Gigasets, but with a very clearly legible display and very nice large buttons. Also important, the ringer volume can be HARD!!!! and the call volume too. Good thing my parents live detached, otherwise the neighbors would complain :-) The advantage is that they can now hear the telephone ringing... Programming is super simple. The only pity is that the handsets work with classic rechargeable batteries and not with Lion (non-memory) batteries.

Don't get the enthusiasm of others. Ease of use for the elderly is not good (except for the large keys). To listen to missed calls, long press the * key, then click on the B for OK and then select with ^. Sign with a ! in it is the down button. If you press ^ too long while idle, the ringtone will be turned off. If you accidentally press the connection button twice, the loudspeaker turns on loudly. A lot of clumsy things for older people. View the manual online and it is immediately clear.

The phone has a very clear screen with good contrast. Convenient and use and good functions (for example, automatic recording when you take the phone out of the charger).
