The only thing you have to do yourself is the right amount of coffee with a filter. Unfortunately, you cannot remove the water reservoir. You do get a nice handy coffee scoop with it.
You can use 3 different filters in the device. A 4 filter, a large coffee filter and an environmentally friendly iron filter. This last filter works well, only we find the taste better with a normal filter.
The filter tray and the coffee pot both have a leak stop and can therefore always be removed without dripping. There is also a hot plate under the coffee pot that gets really hot. You could almost make food on this haha.
