I have a smart home so I need a lot of lan ports; the four that are on my router are not enough and also have no POE, which this switch does. So yes, a switch is a solution. I chose the POE variant because of the expansions of my smarthome, where POE is desired. The device is heavy, all-metal case, which protects the intestines well. The power supply is also heavy and bulky, something to consider if you want to install this unit in a confined space. The product is provided with mounting material; very handy. €129,= it is a lot of money but then you also have something. Installing is very easy. It is a manageable switch so the settings of the switch can be adjusted at a decent level; it is not "fully manageable" but for my home garden and kitchen network it is not necessary either.

Our digital expert will help you, but it can sometimes make mistakes, like humans do.
According to our network switch expert
For heavier devices: a PoE+ switch supplies more power than a regular PoE switch, so you can also connect IP cameras and access points.
Connect 7 devices: you can connect 7 devices to the internet with a wired connection via this switch.
Easy to set up: this switch is unmanaged, so you can easily connect it with little technical knowledge.
Not for the heaviest devices: PoE+ doesn't provide enough power for the heaviest devices, such as a large pan tilt zoom IP camera.
No extra network features: because this switch isn't a managed switch, you can't set up extra functions for your network.
