After more than two days of looking at different vacuum cleaners, this AEG was the deciding factor because of the compact model, the HEPA filter and the minimal decibels. The latter is unbelievable, it seems like it's not on or not working properly while the suction power is perfect. I became unsure after reading the negative reviews that I hereby debunk:

The snake would look "cheap" and quickly fold in half: absolutely not true. The hose is very flexible in use (handy for storage) and does not fold over. Contemporary "plastic" products such as this vacuum cleaner hose are of good quality, anything but cheap.
The vacuum cleaner would be "too manoeuvrable" and therefore "fly after you": nonsense, compared to my previous (read: very old and very heavy) vacuum cleaner, this AEG vacuum cleaner slides easily behind me. The fact that this vacuum cleaner has no castor wheels is no problem at all.
