I think the JBL Quantum 400 is a great choice for a wired gaming headset. The gaming headset is light, yet sturdy. It fits well and is easy to install. Unfortunately, the JBL Quantum 400 is wired.
Light and sturdy
The first thing I notice when unpacking is the weight of the JBL Quantum 400. The headset is incredibly light and I hardly notice you're wearing it. The JBL Quantum 400 is made of sturdy materials and is also beautifully finished. The earcups fall all the way over my ears and have a few nice features on the left earcup. For example, I can easily adjust the volume and balance between game chat and in-game sounds with the buttons.
Comfortable fit and nice to use
The JBL Quantum 400 is very comfortable to my ears. I've played for hours with this headset and never really got any problems with my ears or head. The headband has a nice cushion that provides good support. This is of course very nice, especially if you play an open world game for hours. In addition, the JBL Quantum 400 can be used on all platforms. Even VR is supported.
Good sound and microphone
The JBL Quantum 400 uses JBL Quantum Surround Sound, JBL's proprietary software. This technique sounds fine, you estimate the direction of the sound well. It's not the best sound I've ever heard, but more than adequate for the price. The microphone is really very good, I can be heard well during online gaming. This is because this gaming headset is directly connected with a cable.
Not wireless
This also brings us to the only drawback of this headset. You are always tied to a wire while gaming. The cable gets in the way while gaming, especially if you want to quickly pour a glass of water. In addition, you cannot easily connect the JBL Quantum 400 to your telephone, since they often no longer have a 3.5mm connection. So you will often need an intermediate piece for connecting to your smartphone.
If you don't mind a wired headset, the JBL Quantum 400 is a great choice. Ultimately, the disadvantages of a wired headset are minimal, especially if there is a good connection. The JBL Quantum 400 is also comfortable during longer gaming sessions and the sound is fine, but lacks some range in tones.
