According to our smart light expert
With a bridge, you can also control the lights when you're not home and set routines.
You can attach the light strip anywhere thanks to the adhesive strip.
You can easily cut this LED strip down to size.
This Light Strip only emits light in 1 color at a time, so choose the Gradient Light Strip if you want colors that blend together.
You can control a maximum of 10 lights per house without a bridge, so add a bridge to operate up to 50 lights.
The Philips Hue Light Strip 2m offers flexible lighting in 16 million colors and all shades of white. You operate the light via your Android or iOS device. First, you have to connect the Philips bridge and download the Philips Hue app. You can cut the strip down to size if necessary and attach it anywhere you want thanks to the handy adhesive strip. The high light output makes the Hue Light Strip 2m suitable for both decorative and functional purposes. Use it as mood lighting underneath the bar in the kitchen, for example. It can also improve the viewing experience when you watch television if you synchronize the strip with your TV. You can extend this light strip up to 10m with the 1m extensions.
Due to the controller of the LED strip, I was unable to mount the product behind the kitchen cabinet as desired. It was finally successful by means of extension strips and adapters (from third parties). You can therefore make the product even more versatile by buying splitters, extension strips, etc., but these are unfortunately not available from Phillips.

After a number of years, quite a few Hue light strips were installed in the house for indirect light applications, a total of 40 meters. Always satisfied, some LED strips stripped of their silicone jacket and mounted in LED rails with diffuser. Litcessory attachments used for corners, edges and bridging (can't understand why philips doesn't put together a pack like that). Also learned to always clean surfaces with alcohol (for solid surfaces) so that the adhesive strips hold (if no rails are used). What really bothers me, however, is how philips is letting its V3 customers suffocate! Neither V3 extensions nor basic kits are (easily) available anymore. if you want to expand your V3 installation you can forget about it and have to replace everything with V4. If 1 meter is damaged during a renovation, ditto, you can remove the entire 10 meter and replace it with V4. Thought you were smart and keep a small replacement stock with V3, nice until a controller strip breaks down, then you can still throw away your stock and replace everything with V4. Thank you Philips for rewarding your loyal customers! We also use Lifx LED strips for certain lighting applications and we don't have that problem at all. If you keep these things in mind (that there will ever be a V5 version where Philips will treat its customers in the same way), then it is best to have a good LED strip with a large light output. With the V3 version it was the case that once you went over 6 meters most controllers make a high frequency irritating noise, I don't know if this is also the case with the V4 version.

Chosen for this strip because of plans to expand further. I think it is very pricey.
