Just arrived but definitely a welcome improvement over our Siemens EQ5 from 2013. The first impression is very good except for a few minor drawbacks. First of all, the speed is a bit disappointing, making a cup of coffee or cappuccino takes 30% longer than our previous machine. It will take some getting used to, but it stands out. In addition, the boiler makes considerable noise, especially with the hot water (tea) function. The grinder, on the other hand, is quiet. Finally, it is a shame that the grid of the drip tray is made of (solid) plastic, and not stainless steel. I'm curious how long the chrome coating will last. Ah and I think it is a shame that there is no automatic rinsing function for the milk hose.
Then the positive side. The coffee tastes great, the milk froths well and the setting options are endless. The design of the machine is very nice and everything feels very solid. I have read some reviews about the quality of the screen and the software, but we are not bothered by this yet. It is not a high-end touchscreen like on a smartphone, but functions well. The resolution of the screen is surprisingly high and looks chic.
It is also immediately noticeable that the residues are dry, so well pressed. It is also a pleasure that you can brew 2 cappuccinos at the same time and the size of the machine is nicely compact.
The machine comes with decent accessories such as the milk hose and milk jug, a water filter and some maintenance products.
How the machine, and the lack of a removable brew group, will hold up in the long term remains to be seen. If there are significant changes in my experience, I will definitely update this review.
