(The old air conditioner was much quieter, and gave a deeper hum than this unit).
The next day I measured again and at 2m distance the dB meter indicated 80dB when the compressor started, and on average 72dB in cooling mode. Much louder than the advertised value. If you are a light sleeper, or sensitive to irregular sounds, I would really look further.
