The soundbar is 1 meter and 2 millimeters long. You actually have a center speaker and 2 left/right speakers in a long bar. In addition, there is a wireless subwoofer with only a power plug. Power cable in both the soundbar and subwoofer, download the LG SoundBar app to pair with Bluetooth and you have music from your phone or other source directly on the LG. What a sound! Fortunately, I have not experienced any issues with the wireless subwoofer, despite quite a few WiFi networks.
But, back to the beginning. Packaging: small puzzle, but really cleverly done with very little plastic. What immediately stands out is the design: beautiful! Beautiful anthracite fabric, with a fairly standard black plastic housing. The buttons are hidden at the top in the fabric and the front display is also hidden behind the fabric - but what is displayed is clearly visible. Personally I think the anthracite fabric is very beautiful and well chosen so that you get a kind of twot-tone, but that is of course personal. I find the high-gloss remote control less successful. That will no doubt scratch quickly.
The most important is of course the sound, which is great. Very nice dark/full sound, low tones have a good range and high tones are just fine. It is advisable to change the setting yourself to, for example, Music preset if you use the soundbar for this. The soundbar has various presets for sound reproduction, which actually work and make a good difference. Music and Sport in particular are really perfect for what they are intended for - and I have experienced that differently with many other audio devices. DTS Virtual X is also top notch, Cinema seems to pay particular attention to the center speaker. Game and Bass Blast I find less successful. With one preset you have a bit more of a surround sound than with the other setting; but you always have room-filling sound.
The LG Soundbar app works great, I think it's a real addition. It is not necessary to change settings. I gave the subwoofer a +1 level via the app to get just a little more bass; later I discovered that it can also be done via the settings button on the remote control. Other advanced settings are for example to do sound synchronization if you have an old TV or something where you have problems with image and sound synchronizing. Shouldn't be necessary, but it's great that you can - only via the app. And also only with the app you can turn on "night time" to limit the intensity differences.
The soundbar seems to be maximized for how loud it can be via, for example, bluetooth. When fully on, I don't think the soundbar is TOO loud at all. There is no "bullying the neighbors" position. Well, turning on the subwoofer full of bass will certainly not please your neighbors, but you can still sit next to it without directly incurring hearing damage. And the sound is certainly NOT distorted at this position.
As a bluetooth speaker, I also think the soundbar is brilliant. There is auto-start as soon as there is a sound source and you have an active bluetooth connection (can be switched on/off). The soundbar has an HDMI ARC connection and make sure you also use it for the connection to your TV, otherwise you will have problems. The advantage of HDMI ARC is that you can also use your TV remote control to make the soundbar louder/softer. The strange thing is that it doesn't work well with bluetooth. With the remote control you can turn the soundbar down, but not louder again. Maybe that's a limitation of bluetooth, but I've never seen it this way before.
All in all a great device. Of course nothing is completely perfect, so I do have a few points that I am less happy with. Brackets are supplied as standard for a wall mounting (or attachment to some television arms if you are very lucky), but because the buttons on the soundbar itself are placed on top, it means that you cannot place the soundbar tightly against the TV if you are using it. (also) on the wall - unless you accept that you cannot use the buttons on the soundbar itself and always operate the soundbar with a remote control or app.
On the other hand, if you have put the soundbar (like me) on top of a cabinet and you have a small four-legged monster with tail walking around.... it can also walk over your soundbar or even lie on top of it. And then suddenly your soundbar is off. Or on. Or changes input, and your TV may also turn on automatically if your HDMI is set up that way. That can be a lot irritating! The aforementioned four-legged monster has also approved the soundbar, as a replacement for her cat bed (Luckily not as a replacement for the scratching post...)
As mentioned above, the soundbar automatically turns on with a bluetooth connection, which is handy, but I actually miss an automatic off function. I've noticed several times lately that I forgot to turn off the soundbar after the music had ended (or turned off). But the soundbar does not turn off automatically if no music is played for a long time. A few times the soundbar was suddenly off, then it seemed to have happened automatically - but much more often the soundbar remained on. I haven't been able to spot a pattern in it yet. In any case, I have not yet found a setting after how much time of inactivity the soundbar should turn itself off. I think that's a big loss.
It is neat from LG that an optical cable is included. Ideal for linking with sources other than your TV. But pushing the optical cable in wasn't as easy as I'm used to from others; it's pushing the cable in at a somewhat awkward angle and then really pushing it through - something you might prefer not to do too hard with an optical cable :) But in this case you have to... ? You might consider connecting the cables to the soundbar before you hang the soundbar on the wall.
Final conclusion: great soundbar and, in my opinion, certainly offers value for money.

I've had the LG Dsp7 soundbar for a few weeks now and I'm very satisfied with it.
The supplied manual was clear, which made connecting the soundbar very easy. We have mounted it on the wall so that it hangs nicely under the TV. You will need your own screws for this as they are not included. The optical cable is included. The subwoofer is compact and wireless except for a power cable. This makes it easy to place in the house and put it in any desired place.
The sound is very beautiful! It completely fills the room, giving you a real cinema experience. The different modes such as music, cinema, gaming or even sports add a lot of value to the soundbar. Music is easy to stream from your phone to the soundbar.
All in all, I am very satisfied with the sound of the soundbar and the subwoofer. It also fits in any interior in terms of appearance! Highly recommended.
