According to our doorbell expert
Thanks to the included chime, you hear a signal at a fixed location in the house when someone rings the doorbell.
Thanks to the 3D motion sensor, you receive very accurate notifications when something happens at your door.
With a Ring Home subscription, you receive extra smart notification and safely store your recorded footage up to 180 days in the cloud.
This smart doorbell isn't easy to install, so we recommend you use a professional installation service
You need a strong WiFi signal at your front door to use this doorbell.
Installing this Ring Video doorbell Pro 2 does require some knowledge of electronics, for example I had to replace my old ring transformer from my group box with that of Ring. In itself a fairly simple task, but if you have never removed a group cabinet before, I would first seek some advice.
Furthermore, the installation was fairly straight forward as I did not use my mechanical doorbell and pulled everything directly from the transformer to the doorbell with an Ethernet cable, only connected the orange and blue wires on both sides using two Wago micro welding terminals.
Power it up and everything is easy to configure via the Ring app.

I have been using the camera doorbell for the better part of half a year now and unfortunately I am going to say goodbye to it because of the subscription system that is attached to being able to use the product to its full potential. The installation requires some knowledge of the subject but nothing that is insurmountable. Furthermore, the sound, the interface and the image quality are certainly not bad. What then convinces me to stop using the device? I can easily accept that cloud storage should be paid for, but that with a product in this price category I do not have the option to record and store things locally is a street too far for me. Lesson learned. No more subscription based products for me.

We lasted 24 hours with this bell. Finally after resetting the chime 3 times and leaving it alone for 20 hours we were finally able to save settings. Every time the notification that he is updating when he was already done.
The Ring itself is unfortunately completely unreliable. Repeatedly pressing the bell and no device and the Chime a notification. That is an essential thing for a bell. Sound and the blue ring on the bell, but no sound or notification whatsoever inside and on the phones.
