Tiny Tina Wonderlands fulfills all expectations for a Borderlands fan and is a perfect entry point for newcomers. Apart from the main character and some old characters, the game is completely separate from the Borderlands games.
Absurd story with good jokes
Tiny Tina Wonderlands is a spin-off to the Borderlands games. The Borderlands games are shooters with RPG elements, such as skill trees and different classes. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is essentially the same, but here the focus is on the RPG elements and a fantasy setting. Tiny Tina is a hyperactive teenager who loves to play the board game Bunkers and Badasses. You play as The Fatemaker and get to create your own character at the start of the game. Then, join the charming Valentine and his robot Frette on an adventure to save the Wonderlands from The Dragon Lord. The dialogues between all the characters are often absurd and quite hilarious, provided you like that humor of course. However, some characters in the world are downright ugly for a game in 2022.
Fully customizable character
Where in the Borderlands games you could choose from 4 characters, each with their own powers, that is not the case in Tiny Tina Wonderlands. You compose your character completely yourself in this game, from appearance to the powers. You can choose from more than 5 classes, all of which have their own specialties. I chose The Spore Warden myself, because it conjures up snow storms and has a mushroom that helps you during the fight. There are many more options to choose from, such as the Brrr-zerker with ice powers and the Stabbomancer that deals a lot of damage with its blades.
Strong gameplay with cool elements
The gameplay in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is also rock solid. The weapons and spells at your disposal all work well. Especially when a horde of enemies comes at you and you land your icy comet and do massive damage. The weapons also often have a fantasy style. For example, instead of pistols there are crossbows. Your gear now consists of spells instead of grenades and you make your character stronger with magic rings. The game can be played together with 3 other friends from start to finish, both offline and online. Moreover, it does not matter online which console everyone is playing on thanks to the crossplay support.
