I just bought a bridge camera because I don't want to carry a whole load of luggage and still want to take good pictures. This bag meets this requirement perfectly, as the camera fits nicely in it so that it is securely held. In the top cover is a handy mini storage compartment, and on both sides there are two small spaces where an extra battery or even the compact camera of the children (just) fits. I sometimes took my (old) analog SLR "bare" with me (without a bag) because I found this more convenient.
